Artisanworks LLC is very excited to be in the Methow Valley. After 23 years in Central Oregon, I decided I needed a slower pace. I was specifically living in the Bend, OR area, tho my wife Tara and I lived rurally outside of town in Tumalo and then Alfalfa. While in Tumalo, a small community outside of Bend started to get saturated, we moved to a totally off-grid community just outside of Alfalfa. We lived in a small Timber frame cabin, hauled our own water and were powered by solar. I found this property while building a strawbale home for some clients.
Right about the same time Covid hit, I was diagnosed with cancer. We battled and beat cancer, took some time to heal and re-assess our lives and decided to leave the Bend area and find a new place to call home. We bought a camper and did some traveling, and wound up in the Methow Valley prompted from a family member from Seattle. They suggested we take a look, and both Tara and myself being artists, we fell in love immediately. We have been here going on 3 years now.
We are working class folk and the Methow Valley spoke to us. Tara is a career teacher and found her niche at the ILC, a true dream job for her and an incredible schooling system. We got a property outside of Twisp, with a great shop and grounds to continue my Timber Frame journey. I have also started a guitar/drum repair and maintenance shop, and am looking for fellow musicians. Our welcoming committee is Frito, our grouchy red heeler.
We hope to see you all soon, looking forward to meeting the community and enjoying this AMAZING valley.
